Mavis Roebuck was the only daughter of George Thomas Roebuck II and his wife Evelyn (nee Sellars). She was baptised at Sharrowvale Wesleyan Chapel, Sheffield.

Left: Extracted from the group photo appearing on the page for her parents, this is Mavis aged 8.

Right: Perhaps a little bit older, here is Mavis again, from a photo showing her parents and other relatives on a day trip. The full photo will be shown on the Roebuck Groups pages.
Mavis married Richard Hewson Moore (known as Dick), on 19th June 1954, at Surbiton in Surrey. Later, in the Roebuck Groups series of pages, we will publish their wedding photo, which has absolutely everybody on it!
Mavis and Dick had two children, Carol and Judith, with whom we have unfortunately lost contact at the time of writing, but hope to trace them eventually (please help if you can!). Mavis died of a blood clot after routine surgery in ?2001, and Dick is still alive at the time of writing, although not well. He has had a stroke during the winter of 2004/05, but hopefully will soon get better and be in circulation again.
Contribution from Cynthia Osborne (nee Roebuck) dated January 2005:
"You asked what had become of Mavis's children. Well as it happens I heard from Hilda a few days ago, and she dropped the snippet of information that Judith, Mavis's daughter, is getting married on July 17th, (a Sunday,) to David. Now she didn't give me David's surname. She must have presumed I knew it, since I believe she told me previously that they had been together for some time. I'll try and find out more from Hilda, as I don't want to bother Dick due to his present ill-health. He has Parkinson's disease I understand, as well as having had a heart attack just before Christmas. So I think he has enough to contend with."
