On other pages are shown histories and individual pictures of both George and Annie Louisa. They went on to have seven children, and particularly when the family was young, they had group photos taken.

Left: Annie Louisa and George in their back garden at The Crescent, Chorley, during the 1920s soon after those houses were built. They moved in around the time Cynthia was born in 1922. In the background it is amazing to see how rural the setting looks - those who know Chorley nowadays know how built up the area is now, with the motorway running across a mile away. Although formally posed, this photo has a relaxed look to it, perhaps because one of their sons, rather than a stranger, is taking it?

Right: George Thomas I and Annie Louisa are obviously all dressed up for a wedding, but whose? It must be before the date in 1925 when Annie Louisa died, and young Cynthia is the little bridesmaid, so after 1922. It must be George Thomas II and Evelyn Sellars, who got married in 1924, as several other Roebucks got married in 1926, including the senior George who had by then been widowed and met Lily.

Left: This studio photo shows most of the Roebuck brood, with only Cynthia absent as she has not yet been born. The baby is Edgar, who was born in 1914, and is not more than a year or so old. The oldest son George Thomas II is a soldier, and this photo could have been taken on the occasion of his enlisting. The First World War must have started, therefore this photo is dated between 1914 and 1918. Annie Louisa is in the centre of the group, and George Thomas I at the back on the right. In descending order of age, George Thomas II is the soldier in the centre of the back row, Grace is on the left of the middle row, with the fancy collar, and with his hand on her shoulder is Wilf. Wilf is not in uniform, although he does join up at some point. Then on the right of Annie Louisa is Alfred, and Billy is standing in the front row, and Edgar is on his mother's lap.

Right: We are already acquainted with the people in the back row of this photo, who are: (L-R) Annie Louisa Roebuck, Hannah Moore her mother, Grace Roebuck her daughter, and George Thomas Roebuck I, her husband.
The people in the front row are members of the Scholes family. Annie Louisa's sister Florence (Cynthia's "Aunt Florrie") is the middle person in the front row. She married Arthur William (Billy) Scholes, who is on the left. Billy's mother, i.e. Mrs Scholes senior, is the other lady, with the square collar.
