Above: This photo was extracted from a group taken in the early 1920s, judging by ages of other people on it. The lady in the centre is Florence Scholes (nee Moore), who was Annie Louisa's sister, and therefore Cynthia's aunt, known as Aunt Florrie.
Florence was born on 20th May 1891 in Yorkshire. As is mentioned on her parents' page on this site, Francis and Hannah Moore moved from Wales, so some of Florence's siblings were born there, some in Yorkshire, and we think that mining could have been the reason for the move.
Florence married Arthur William (Billy) Scholes on unknown date. Billy is on the left in the above photo, and his mother, "Mrs Scholes senior", on the right. Billy was born on 23rd November 1888, place unknown. Billy and Florence had one daughter Dallas, who was born on 2 April 1916.

Left: This studio photograph of Dallas is marked as being taken at Blackpool. She is possibly a little younger than in the next photo....

Right: Dallas aged 8 is bridesmaid at cousin George Thomas Roebuck's wedding on 6th September 1924. The two are related through George's mother Annie Louisa and Dallas' mother Florrie being sisters.
Billy died in Fairvale Mental Hospital in Mexborough, South Yorkshire, on 26 February 1956. Florrie died on 28th October 1969, at 7 Lyndhurst House, Rotherham, South Yorkshire.
Dallas married Stanley Harry Ratcliff. They had three children, and at an early stage the family settled in South Africa. Dallas died on 5th July 1986 aged 70 in Johannesburg, South Africa. In the modern photos collection will appear one or two photos of the younger Ratcliffs in South Africa.
