It was my pleasure to organise a team-building event for the large project team for which I am working at R...H... They had already had the idea and had booked basic facilities - what I added to it was organisation on the day, and inevitable photography. I think about 22 people attended, and those who couldn't had some wonderful excuses, like being in Mauritania (oh yeah sure.... but it was true!). Those who did attend were from RH in the UK, RH from Holland seconded over here for a while, and the client for whom the work was being done, also based with us. Not everybody knew each other by a long way, but that soon changed!
I didn't quite realise I was going until that morning, so there I was at the Pitch and Putt course after work, clipboard in hand, greeting each person with "go into the shop, get your clubs, ball, score card and pencil, come to the first tee". There I organised people into small groups, shooed them off, and once they got going, chased them round, still in my office gear, with a works camera I had quickly borrowed from another department. At the last hole I was waiting again for more photos, and frisked everyone of their score cards and sent them into the pub next door. The organiser, Martijn, and I then made up the rules for awarding several prizes for golf prowess or lack of it, while we all had dinner in the pub. I think everybody had a late night.
To those who don't know all the team members, these pictures will just look like people playing golf, but most of you will recognise yourself and others. Therefore I have omitted comments, apart from on the last page where the team photos are. There are 7 pages of 5 photos each, and the ones in the pub didn't come out due to lack of flash.
See if you can spot yourself!
By the way, please send me some feedback by clicking here. I don't have an e-mail account at RH! Thanks.
