At our final destination, not quite needing oxygen but definitely a comfy cushion for the seat, we got out for a Greek half hour to either dive into the taverna across the road, or starve and look at the churches, according to our inclinations. The churches were locked (story of my life), but with a couple of leg-ups to high windows and holding the camera aloft... the things we do to bring you the pictures!
Below: Proves we can do a wonky photo without standing on one foot on a bench... It seems that the little white church was the oldest one - 14th century, and the other built in Byzantine style just behind it. Both appear to be in use, but not on Sunday evening...
Below: Peeping through faded red velvet curtains, we get a glimpse of the lovely frescoes and icons inside the bigger, more ornate, church.
Below, from another window we get a slightly better view of the interior, again of the big church, showing the marble floor and the ornate furniture. Sorry about the interference from the lighter scene outside reflected in the window. This was a tricky photo, wasn't quite standing on Alun's shoulders, but high enough...
Below, this photo, taken with flash through a dirty window (well done camera), shows the interior of the little white church, every bit as ornate as its big sister.
